Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 May 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the MEDGO mobile application ("the App", "we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use it. The App is the official mobile application for the 5th Medinah Gynecology Obstetrics International Congress, operated by Top House Conferences.
1. Information We Collect
We aim to collect as little information as possible. The App does not require account creation, and we do not collect names, emails, phone numbers, or other personal identifiers directly through the App.
The following information may be collected automatically:
- Push Notification Token: A device-specific token generated by Apple Push Notification service (APNs) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) so we can send congress-related notifications (program updates, reminders, announcements). This token does not identify you personally.
- Device Information: Basic non-personal information such as device model, operating system version, and app version, used solely for diagnostics and ensuring app compatibility.
- App Preferences: Bookmarks, saved sessions, and settings are stored locally on your device only. They are not transmitted to our servers.
- Advertising Identifier and App Activity: A The App includes the Meta (Facebook) SDK so we can measure how well our advertising performs. Where permitted, this collects your device's advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Google Advertising ID on Android) together with basic device and app-usage events — such as opening the App, opening the registration screen, and completing a congress registration. See Section 4 for how to opt out.
2. Information We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect your name, email, address, or phone number through the App.
- We do not track your location.
- We do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs that track you across other apps or websites.
- We do not sell or rent any data to third parties.
3. Permissions Used
- Notifications: Used to send you congress updates and reminders. You may disable this in your device settings at any time.
- Photo Library (iOS): Only used if you choose to save an image from the App to your device.
4. Advertising and Measurement
We advertise the App on Meta platforms (Facebook and Instagram). To understand which advertisements lead people to install and use the App, we use the Meta SDK, which shares your advertising identifier and the app events described in Section 2 with Meta Platforms, Inc. and Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.
This information is used to measure and improve our advertising. We do not use it to identify you personally, and we do not receive your Facebook or Instagram profile information.
You can opt out at any time:
- IOS: IOS: When you first open the App, iOS asks whether MEDGO may track you across apps and websites. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," no advertising identifier is collected. You can change this later under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Android:Go to Settings → Google → Ads and select "Delete advertising ID" or "Opt out of Ads Personalisation."
Meta's handling of this data is governed by Meta Privacy Policy.
5. Third-Party Services
The App uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own privacy policy:
- Expo / EAS (Expo Application Services): Used for over-the-air updates and push notification delivery. See expo.dev/privacy.
- Apple Push Notification service (APNs): On iOS devices, used to deliver push notifications.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM): On Android devices, used to deliver push notifications. See firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
- Meta (Facebook) SDK:: Advertising measurement, as described in Section 4.
- External Websites: The App includes links to external websites for registration and abstract submission. Payment is processed entirely on those external sites; the App does not see or store payment data.
5. External Websites and Payment
The App contains links to external websites operated by Top House Conferences (such as the registration page and abstract submission portal). Registration and payment for the congress are processed on the external Top House Conferences website, not within the App. When you tap "Register" or "Pay Now", you are taken to an external secure checkout page. Payment information is handled entirely by that website and its payment processor; the App does not see or store any payment data.
6. Data Storage and Security
Any data stored by the App (bookmarks, preferences) remains on your device. Push notification tokens are stored securely on Expo's servers and used only to deliver notifications from us. We use industry-standard practices to protect data transmitted to and from our services.
We do not sell or share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for medical professionals and adult attendees of the MEDGO 2026 congress. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children.
7. Your Rights and Choices
- Disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.
